Loess Inspiration 2018 is a Spanish Red Wine from Ribera del Duero. Loess Inspiration was born out of a blending session while creating the final blend for Loess Crianza 2012. During a moment of inspiration, a new wine appeared that would fit perfectly in the Loess range as a younger Spanish red wine. It ages in barrels for around 9 months, and so may be included in the range of so-called high-end oak reds. The various wines that blend to form Loess Inspiration have spent an average of nine months in excellent quality French oak barrels, with light to medium toast levels, in their first, second or third year of use.The harvest is done by hand in October, which is an ideal time in Ribera del Duero. That way, grapes ripen slowly with good acidity.

Taster's notes

When this Spanish red wine is opened and served in a glass, it presents an intense, very young, garnet color indicating the proper maceration of the grapes on harvesting. On the nose, it quickly shows considerable aromatic intensity, with a predominance of fruit subtly blended with the oak in which it has aged for months, creating highly satisfying nuances of complexity. On the palate, the varietal character is prominent, its texture pleasing and its flavor a complex blend of fruit, balsamic and the hints of toasted oak, with a medium-long finish. This Spanish red wine pairs perfectly with soup and vegetable dishes, grilled meat, stew and stewed meat, and it is delicious with roast lamb. Best served at a temperature between 15ºC and 16ºC.

Driven by a passion for fine wines and applying over eighteen years of winemaking experience, Loess began a new adventure in 2001, where they focus in quality. Loess started the project directly from the terroir, purchasing six selected vineyards in Roa, Burgos.
