Italian red wine obtained 100% from Primitivo grapes, from the Protitivo di Manduria protected designation of origin, from the Masseria Surani vineyards in the Salento region. The vines are grown in the Guyot system and in an ecological system, and the soils are mostly calcareous, therefore rich in iron. The wine has aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
Intense ruby red, this wine offers a fascinating complexity on the nose: from floral scents of violets to rich fruits of black and bitter cherries and strawberries, along with underlying balsamic notes, licorice and herbs. In the mouth it is ample, full-bodied and fruity, and conquers you with its shiny tannins and vibrant finish, supported by a fresh and attractive vein of acidity. We recommend pairing the wine with grilled meat, lamb steak, matured cheeses and tasty soups containing vegetables and spices. We suggest a serving temperature between 16ºC and 18ºC.
Masseria Surani is an old 19th century farmhouse, that has been reconstructed as a wine cellar. Their history began in August 2014 with the first harvest on the 80 hectares of estate in the Manduria denomination.
