The wine Le Versant is a red wine produced in the Bordeaux region in France, by Domaine de L´Aurage. This 2019 vintage made of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc comes from the Castillon-Côtes-de-Bordeaux appellation.

Taster´s notes

The nose is powerful, intense, with very elegant woody notes. The toasted, spicy and ripe black fruit notes are superb. The Mitjavile family is the only family that knows how to balance so much wood in a wine, obtaining an excellent wine.

The palate is totally in line with the nose, it is a wine of great coherence. We find notes of black fruits, a touch of cinnamon, the tannins are very silky. The wine has a superb length on the palate which finishes on very nice bitters. We recommend pairing this great wine with roasted red meats. We suggest a serving temperature of between 16ºC and 18º

The Winery

Bought in 2007 by Caroline and Louis Mitjavile, also known as "Loulou", L'Aurage is one of the appellation's most valuable assets. Formerly named Château Cadet, this 22-hectare vineyard is planted in a single block and benefits from a first-rate clay-limestone soil. The family's know-how, which can be found in Bourg with Roc de Cambes, and in Saint-Émilion with Tertre Rotebœuf, is easily visible: high maturity of the grapes, maturing in new Radoux barrels, and a single cuvée for the whole property.
