Léonie founded the Canard-Duchêne house in 1859 in the heart of the Montagne de Reims — one of Champagne's most celebrated and most geologically distinctive zones, surrounded by the grand vineyards and extraordinary landscapes that have shaped the region's finest wines for centuries. The Cuvée that bears her name is the house's most personal and most accomplished expression: a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier crafted by oenologist Laurent Fédou, a French Champagne craftsman whose entire professional purpose at Canard-Duchêne is to give freshness and personality to a Maison that has been earning recognition since the year it was founded. A minimum of three years of ageing builds the fine balance, structure and toasted complexity that have earned this Cuvée Gold medals at the Prix Plaisir Terre de Vins Concours and the International Wine Challenge — and that make it one of the most consistently rewarding and most honestly priced Champagnes available anywhere in the Dis&Dis collection.

Winemaker's Notes

Golden in the glass — warm, luminous and carrying the confident colour of a Champagne aged a minimum of three years with complete house conviction. On the nose, generous and layered: yellow fruit in compote with tropical fruits, dried flowers and spicy notes — the accomplished aromatic portrait of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in complete harmony under Laurent Fédou's precise and personality-driven winemaking. On the palate, fresh pineapple with toasted notes — fine, balanced and well-structured, with the persistent, elegant finish that three years of Montagne de Reims ageing always rewards when the fruit is exceptional and the winemaker is as committed as the house demands. Best enjoyed with appetisers and all kinds of food. Serve between 6°C and 8°C.
