Marques de Griñon Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a Spanish red wine from Valdepusa. The Marqués de Griñon "Cabernet Sauvignon" was the first variety planted by Carlos Falcó and is considered a pioneer wine in the state. It should be mentioned that it was also the first vineyard in the world to use drip irrigation as a quality factor, preventing grape over-ripening and creating natural freshness and acidity. This wine is matured for 12 to 15 months in fresh French Allier oak barrels.

Winemaker's Notes

Marques de Griñon Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 has a ruby red colour with garnet reflections and a good high layer intensity. Very appealing to the eye. On the nose, scents of red forest fruit are portrayed in their entirety, with wild blackberries and raspberries standing out, as well as spaced notes of wonderfully agglutinated cinnamon with a chocolate backdrop. Entrance into the mouth, where the wine reveals itself once more with all of its intensity. It demonstrates good voluptuousness and structure, with extremely well-integrated tannins and a fruit that is unmistakably the star. Long and tenacious. The wine goes well with any meat and cheese recipe. We recommend a service temperature of 16°C.

About the Winery

Don Carlos Falcó, Marqués de Griñón is the heir to the tradition of the lineage founded by Gonzalo Fernández de Córdova and linked from as early as 1292 to the Valdepusa Estate in Toledo. In 2003, this estate became the first estate to be entitled to international recognition as a Denomination of Origin with its Marqués de Griñón wine. The Marqués de Griñón winery was the first to introduce drip irrigation in the vines and to use canopy management techniques to ensure that sunlight is received evenly by the vines.
