Marques De Griñon Graciano 2013 is a Spanish red wine from Dominio de Valdepusa. The wine's second vintage comes from one of Castilla-La Mancha's first vineyards planted with Graciano. Methods that prioritise ecological balance were adopted in order to get the best representation of the Dominio de Valdepusa terroir. The minimum intervention in the cellar results in an appealing, silky, and highly polished wine with long age potential. The wine is aged in new and semi-new French oak barrels for 20 months.

Winemaker's Notes

Marques De Griñon Graciano 2013 has an intense cherry red colour, well-layered, indicative of a long-lived wine. On the nose, it has rich scents that cleverly combine ripe fruit with spicy, balsamic, and floral (violet) characteristics. On the palate, it is robust, well-balanced, and delectable, with silky acidity and an abundance of ripe tannins that provide a meaty and velvety mid-palate. We suggest matching the wine with fish, particularly red tuna. We recommend a service temperature of 16ºC.

About the Winery

Don Carlos Falcó, Marqués de Griñón is the heir to the tradition of the lineage founded by Gonzalo Fernández de Córdova and linked from as early as 1292 to the Valdepusa Estate in Toledo. In 2003, this estate became the first estate to be entitled to international recognition as a Denomination of Origin with its Marqués de Griñón wine. The Marqués de Griñón winery was the first to introduce drip irrigation in the vines and to use canopy management techniques to ensure that sunlight is received evenly by the vines.
