Fábregas Puro Syrah Crianza 2019 is a truly special Spanish red wine from the Somontano region. Crafted by Bodegas Fábregas under the DO Somontano, this wine is made exclusively from the Syrah grape variety, also known as a monovarietal.

What sets this wine apart is the traditional winemaking process used to create it. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and then destemmed to remove any unwanted parts. They are then gently pressed, and the resulting juice, known as the must, undergoes fermentation at a controlled temperature. This meticulous approach ensures that the wine develops its unique flavors and characteristics.

After fermentation, Fábregas Puro Syrah Crianza 2019 is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels. This aging process adds depth and complexity to the wine, allowing it to mature and develop its distinct character. Following this barrel aging, the wine undergoes further aging in the bottle, which helps to refine its flavors and aromas.

Winemaker's Notes

Cherry red color with medium - high layer. Nose with good harmony between wild berries and blackberries with cocoa and spices from the barrel. In the mouth, it is intense and resounding, tasty, long, and well integrated tannins. Ideal to accompany this Spanish red wine with white meats, pasta, red meats, cheeses, tuna, and fish. We suggest a service temperature of 16ºC

About the Winery

Bodegas Fabregas was founded in 1883 by Pedro Fábregas Pajé. Pedro Fábregas Mur, the second generation of the family, took over the wine business located at that time in the central street of Graus in Barbastro. After his death during the Spanish Civil War, it was his wife Doña Pura who took over the management of the company. The fourth generation of the family, headed by Flor Fábregas Canales, has been responsible for rehabilitating, equipping and adapting the winery building to the criteria and demands of modern oenology. Likewise, the Fábregas brand has continued to be strengthened with the production of new white, rosé and red wines.
