Immortalis Monastrell 2017 is a rare expression of D.O.P. Bullas — one of Murcia's most historic and least-known appellations, where Monastrell vines have grown for centuries in the sun-scorched soils of southeastern Spain. The grapes are sourced from old vineyards with very low yields, harvested during the second week of October at their precise moment of optimal ripeness. Only the healthiest fruit passes the selection table before fermentation begins. The result is a wine of rare duality — carrying the vibrant freshness of youth alongside the structural complexity that speaks of careful oak maturation in French barrels. A wine that is simultaneously immediate and contemplative.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep purple-red with an intense, almost opaque core. On the nose, dark and complex with black fruit, expressive spicy aromas and a distinctive balsamic character that speaks of Monastrell at its most authentic. On the palate, very fresh, rich and round with a pleasing mineral quality and a lingering balsamic finish that leaves a lasting impression. A wine of character and conviction. Best enjoyed with grilled meats, barbecue, lamb, pizza and ribs. Serve between 14°C and 16°C.

About the Winery

Finca Aylés is located in the northeast of Spain, near the city of Zaragoza, halfway between Madrid and Barcelona. The winemaking project of the Ramón Reula family began in the 1980s and culminated with the reunification of several properties that had belonged to the Finca Aylés since the Middle Ages. At that time it became one of the largest private historical estates in Aragon, with more than 3,200 hectares of land and valuable ecological and scenic conditions. In 2010, the winery was awarded "Vinos de Pago", the highest level of quality that a Spanish winery can achieve.
