Maranges "Le Saugeot" 2020 is a French wine signed Domaine Edmond Monnot et Fils and produced in the small Maranges region.It is produced 100% from Pinot Noir grapes, harvested, and selected entirely by hand from the 45-year-old vine. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 30 ° C for about 15-20 days. This operation allows the wine to be enriched with the tannin needed for long-term aging. Maturation takes place in Allier oak barrels for at least 12 months.

Taster´s notes

Maranges "Le Saugeot" 2020 is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose has very fruity, fresh aromas, such as wild strawberries, raspberries and cherries. In the mouth it is a pleasant wine, very round, slightly spicy and fruity. We recommend pairing the wine with meat in sauce or grilled meat. Serving temperature, 16ºC.

The Winery

The estate is located in the commune of Dezize - les- Maranges. This picturesque village, with its steep streets, is part of the Maranges appellation which is the southern gateway to the Côte de Beaune. It has been a family winery for three generations, since 1920. At present, the estate covers 8.50 hectares, mainly in the "Maranges" appellation (80% of the surface) where they grow white and red grapes. The vines are worked in a sustainable way.
