Marie-Thérèse and Jean Orliac founded Domaine de l'Hortus in 1978 in the valley of Pic Saint Loup — and what began as a family project has grown, over four decades and three generations, into one of the appellation's most respected and celebrated estates. Their daughter Marie and sons François and Yves now run the domaine alongside their parents, farming alluvial brown soils that give their wines a distinct mineral character and keeping yields between 35 and 45 hl/ha to guarantee concentration and refinement in every bottle. The Bergerie Blanc is the estate's most accessible white expression: Roussanne for texture and floral depth, Viognier for aromatic lift, Chardonnay for balance and Sauvignon Blanc for freshness — direct-pressed and fermented over 3 to 4 weeks to preserve the full aromatic potential of a valley that the Orliac family has devoted their lives to understanding.
