Château Larcis Ducasse 2017 is one of Saint-Emilion's most coveted wines — a 1er Grand Cru Classé crafted from 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, with only the finest hand-sorted grapes selected for this exceptional cuvée. The 2017 growing season presented challenges across the appellation — spring frosts caused significant crop losses — but those estates whose terroirs sit closest to Pomerol were rewarded with intensely concentrated, ripe fruit of rare quality. Aged for 16 to 18 months in barrels before bottling, Château Larcis Ducasse 2017 emerges as a wine of refined elegance and quiet complexity — awarded 95 points simultaneously by Robert Parker, James Suckling and Wine Spectator, a triple critical endorsement that speaks for itself. A wine to cellar with confidence and open with ceremony.

Winemaker's Notes

Elegant, fine ruby red with depth and clarity. On the nose, fresh and refined with delicate aromas of small black and red currants — pure, precise and unmistakably Saint-Emilion. On the palate, light and beautifully composed with a pleasing spicy concentration, tender and soft with seamlessly integrated oak and firm yet smooth tannins that carry the wine to a long, graceful finish. A vintage that prizes elegance over power — and delivers both. Best paired with Beef Wellington, duck, lamb stews, game and confit de canard. Serve between 15°C and 18°C.

About the Winery

Château Larcis Ducasse has been a very well-known winery from the Bordeaux region since the XVI century, when their wines were already being sold internationally by the Libourne wine merchant, Pierre Beylot. In 1893, Henry Raba, descendent of an illustrious Bordeaux family of shipbuilders and wine merchants, purchased Chateau Larcis Ducasse. Currently, Château Larcis Ducasse remains the property of the descendants of the Raba family. Jeanne Attmane and her brother, Jacques-Olivier Gratiot, each one of them co-managers, and their children who are extremely attached to the place, continue to preserve and maintain this marvellous heritage.
