Txakoli is not just a wine — it is the white wine of the Basque Country, as inseparable from the Atlantic landscape, the seafood culture and the daily rhythm of Bizkaia as the language spoken there. Gorka Izagirre is among the most respected names in the appellation: a family project built around 40 hectares of small, carefully tended plots on steep southeast-facing slopes, where Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zerratia — two indigenous varieties grown almost nowhere else in the world — are hand-harvested in October at the low yields that make structured, high-quality Txakoli possible. Winemaker's Notes

Straw yellow in the glass — bright, clean and immediately inviting, with the luminous freshness of a Txakoli made from hand-harvested indigenous varieties on steep Atlantic slopes. On the nose, pleasant dried fruit with the vivid, clean character of Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zerratia in their truest environment — direct, honest and completely without pretension. On the palate, very fresh and dry — lively, light and precisely what the Basque Country has been producing from these slopes for generations. Best enjoyed with seafood, smoked fish and bluefish dishes. Serve at 8°C.

Gorka Izagirre is a family project born in the vineyard and built around a single unalterable conviction: that Bizkaia's identity — its slopes, its Atlantic climate, its rare native varieties — is not a starting point to be refined away but the very thing worth protecting and expressing in every bottle.
