Elaboration

The vineyards of Altos de Torona occupy one of the most remarkable natural settings in Spanish wine — overlooking the Miño River, close to the Atlantic Ocean, within a protected biodiversity habitat where more than 91 species of flora and 71 species of fauna coexist in the same landscape as the vines. This is not a detail of background interest. It is the terroir. The Atlantic character, the marked freshness and the typicity that Rías Baixas is celebrated for are inseparable from the ecosystem that produces them — and Bodegas Altos de Torona has built its winemaking approach entirely around protecting and expressing that character with complete fidelity. The Rosal 2020 is a blend of Albariño, Loureiro and Caíño Blanco — three native Galician varieties hand-picked at peak ripeness, cold macerated, fermented at controlled temperature and aged for six months on fine lees to develop the smoothness, structure and distinctive tropical depth that sets this wine apart from a single-varietal Albariño. Stone fruit, passionfruit and mango on the nose. Sweet, well-structured and lively on the palate. A long, lasting finish that carries the Atlantic all the way to the end.

Bright and vivid in the glass — the clean, luminous colour of a white wine grown in one of Spain's most biologically rich and Atlantic-influenced wine landscapes, vinified with the precision and respect that six months on fine lees and three native varieties at peak ripeness deserve. On the nose, stone fruit opens with natural warmth and intensity, followed by tropical notes of passionfruit and mango that add a lush, generous dimension entirely characteristic of Galician white wine at its most expressive and complete. On the palate, sweet and well-structured — lively and invigorating, with the natural freshness and Atlantic acidity that Rías Baixas always delivers and a long, lasting finish that confirms the quality of the blend and the exceptional character of the landscape that produced it. A white wine of immediate pleasure and genuine depth. Best enjoyed with seafood, sushi and spicy dishes. Serve at 6°C.
