Bergerie de l'Hortus is a French red wine made from wines from the AOC Pic Saint Loup vineyards, known for their high quality standards. The wines come from the plots at the base of the slope, with a less marked exposure, with a generally late ripening compared to the Domaine de l'Hortus vineyards. The soils formed on the limestone are shallower. Therefore, the vine is more sensitive to summer drought. The obtained crops are carefully processed in the cellar: relatively short macerations and maturations. The grapes are peeled and crushed. Stable period of 10 to 30 days, depending on the grape variety and the level of maturity. 12-month aging in Grenache and Syrah vats. Mourvèdre is aged in 2 wine barrels.
