Wine from DOC Alentejo, Portugal, made from Alicante Bouschet, Syrah grapes and a blend of old vine varieties. Alicante Bouschet was once a popular French red grape, but has now settled perfectly in the Alentejo region of Portugal, where it is nicknamed "Tinta de Escrever", as well as in some parts of Spain, where it is called Garnacha Tintorera or Negral. Grape harvesting is done manually. Fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. It has aged in new French oak barrels for 24 months.
