Elaboration

This fantastic red wine comes from the beautiful vineyards of Saint-Estèphe, made with a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot by the talented winemakers at Château Ségur de Cabanac. The vineyard spans an impressive 7.7 hectares, and the vines, with an average age of 33 years, have been carefully nurtured to produce exceptional grapes.

When it's time for harvest, the grapes are hand-picked with utmost care, ensuring that only the finest ones make it into this special wine. To further enhance its flavors, the wine is aged for a remarkable 20 months in oak barrels. The winemakers have chosen to incorporate 30% new barrels, adding a touch of freshness and complexity to the final product.

Winemaker's Notes

The wine has a deep red color, with aromas of black and red fruits mixed with spicy notes. The palate is soft and smooth with precise and fine tannins. A lot of elegance and finesse with a very good length in the mouth. We recommend pairing it with red meats, game meats, and cheeses. We suggest a serving temperature of 16ºC

About the Winery

Château Ségur de Cabanac in Saint-Estèphe belongs to the Delon family, who also owns Château Moulin de la Rose in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle. The Delons have been making wine in the Médoc for seven generations. Château Ségur de Cabanac takes its name from the illustrious and powerful family of the same name whose history was entwined with that of the Médoc going back to the 16th century. This aristocratic Bordeaux family owned great vineyards such as Lafite and Latour in Pauillac.
