Elaboration

Ribera del Duero is one of Spain's most celebrated red wine appellations — and Albillo is the white grape that has grown there quietly for centuries without anyone asking what it could become. García Viadero is among the first serious answers to that question: a lees-aged white from Bodegas Valduero — a winery founded in 1994 with 140 hectares of hand-picked vineyards and a philosophy focused entirely on quality rather than volume, producing only in the best vintages. The result is a wine of light straw colour, original pineapple and grapefruit aromatics that evolve toward smoke and honey, and a full, well-balanced palate with the slight acidity that keeps Albillo's natural corpulence in perfect check.

Winemaker's Notes

Light straw in the glass — bright and clean, with the freshness of a white built to resist oxidation and preserve every dimension of Albillo's natural character. On the nose, pineapple and grapefruit with a background that evolves toward smoke and honey with time. On the palate, full and well-balanced — the slight acidity counteracting the variety's natural body with complete precision. Best enjoyed with fish, grilled vegetables and Mediterranean salads. Serve between 6 and 8°C.
