About the Winery

La Jaraba winery is a testament to the rich history and natural resources of its location. Situated in the heart of La Mancha, between Villarrobledo and El Provencio, this historic site has attracted settlements dating back to the Paleolithic era. Throughout the centuries, Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, and Arabs recognized the unique advantages of this land for agriculture and livestock. They established camps and thrived amid its fertile grounds. The name "Jaraba" itself speaks of the abundance of water that the Arabs acknowledged in this awe-inspiring place. In the 21st century, new ownership revolutionized the production system, revitalizing the vineyard, olive grove, and livestock farm. Alongside these ventures, a state-of-the-art winery, cheese factory, and oil mill were constructed, further enhancing the estate's offerings. Such dedication and commitment to excellence led to the European Union's recognition of La Jaraba as a protected area. The estate was awarded the prestigious "D.O. Pago" distinction, the highest recognition of wine quality in Spain. This acknowledgement reflects the exceptional vineyard and merits its own Denominación de Origen: "La Jaraba D.O.P."
