La Nave 2019 is built on one of the oldest and most celebrated principles of Rioja winemaking — the art of the assembly. A blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo and Mazuelo sourced from old vineyards across all three of Rioja's distinct sub-zones — Rioja Alta, Rioja Oriental and Rioja Alavesa — La Nave brings together the diversity of soils, climates and vineyard characters that define this denomination's most iconic and enduring wines. The winery behind it is as unusual as the wine itself: MacRobert & Canals was born from the integration of Bryan MacRobert, a South African winemaker, into the Canals family, who have been rooted in Rioja for over forty years. Their shared ambition is to produce transparent wines of special quality that show the true diversity of what Rioja is capable of — working with deep respect for the environment both in the vineyard and in the cellar. La Nave is the most direct and honest expression of that ambition: a traditional Rioja assembly made with a genuinely fresh and open-minded perspective.
