arón Reserva 2014 is a wine built entirely around patience and place. The blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo comes from vines averaging over 70 years of age, hand-harvested across four small villages in the Rioja Alta — Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón, Sajazarra, Tirgo and Villaseca — at a carefully controlled yield of 4,000 to 5,000 kg per hectare that ensures natural concentration and depth in every cluster. The winemaking follows a traditional process: grapes are cold macerated for 2 to 3 days before fermentation lasting approximately 7 days and a total vatting time of 15 to 18 days. After a brief period of natural rest following malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred to American oak casks with an average age of 2 years — a deliberate choice that contributes elegance and integration rather than aggressive wood — where it matures for 14 months under controlled conditions of temperature and humidity. A further 14 months of bottle maturation follows, allowing the wine to reach the complex stability and serenity that defines this Reserva at its best.
