Elaboration

The Atlantis collection was built on a conviction: that the Atlantic wine regions of Spain — with their distinctive climates, soils and indigenous varieties — deserved a project dedicated entirely to expressing their individual characters with complete winemaking honesty. Led by Raúl Acha, one of Spain's most respected winemakers, and developed by Vintae through its Maetierra winery, Atlantis Albariño is the Rías Baixas expression of that conviction — sourced from carefully selected vineyards in Condado de Tea, on the right bank of the Miño River, at altitudes between 100 and 250 metres on slopes with a 10% gradient. This is not a flat-land Albariño. The slopes bring concentration, the altitude brings freshness and the Miño River's influence brings the mineral precision and Atlantic character that make Condado de Tea one of the sub-zones within Rías Baixas most worth paying attention to. The result is a wine of elegant lemon yellow colour, very intense and persistent aromatics of green apple and tropical pineapple, and a palate that is long, glyceric and full of sensations — with a perfect natural acidity that carries the wine's considerable presence through to a finish of genuine satisfaction. Some of the most unique white wines in Europe, as the winery itself describes them — and in the glass, it is easy to understand why.

Winemaker's Notes

Elegant lemon yellow in the glass — clean, bright and immediately communicating the aromatic intensity and Atlantic freshness of Albariño grown on sloped Condado de Tea vineyards selected with the precision that Raúl Acha's Atlantic wine project demands. On the nose, very intense and persistent from the first moment: green apple opens with vivid, cool-climate precision, followed by tropical pineapple adding a generous warmth and the kind of aromatic quality that makes this wine immediately and irresistibly appealing. On the palate, long and glyceric — full of sensations and structured by a perfect natural acidity that is precisely calibrated to the wine's body and carries its considerable presence through to a finish of real persistence and pleasure. An Albariño that gives everything it has from the first pour and keeps giving through the last. Best enjoyed as an aperitif or with seafood and lightly seasoned fish of any kind. Serve between 7 and 10°C.
