Elaboration

Abadia Da Cova Blanco 2020 is a Spanish young organic white wine from Ribeira Sacra. This wine is produced by Adegas Moure winery, a family winery located in the northern part of Spain, in the Galicia region. This wine is made from the grapes Albariño, Godello, Treixadura, and Torrontes.

The harvest process of this wine is incredible given that the vineyards are located on very steep hills and the harvest can only be done by hand. It is part of what is called "heroic viticulture", a type of viticulture that it is quite dangerous due to the steepness of the vineyard.

Once the grapes are hand-picked, then they are sorted out in the winery, in order to only use the best grapes possible. Then the fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.

The front label wine represents the mountains where the vineyards are located at 500 m altitude and the river Miño that passes through.

This is a fantastic organic wine that received 91 points in the Peñin guide.

Taster's notes

Abadia Da Cova Blanco 2020 has a bright yellow tone with a greenish sheen. When smelling the wine, you will appreciate the aromas of tropical fruit, stone fruit and white flower.

If you taste the wine, you will notice that it is extremely expressive, clear and fine. It is very well structured, with good acidity and a lot of intensity, due to the altitude of the vineyard of 500m.

This wine pairs perfectly with bluefish, molluscs and shellfish, rice and roasted vegetables, white meats, and fresh and fatty cheeses. In order to taste its full potential, we recommend a serving temperature of between 9º and 12ºC.

The Winery

The Adegas Moure family winery was founded in 1958 in Ribeira Sacra, a beautiful but difficult harvest area. The vineyards are located on steep hills that make mechanical harvest impossible. All the grapes must be hand-picked, respecting and protecting the environment. As part of their commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, they hand-pick all of their grapes. The goal that they have marked since the birth of their company is to maintain the authenticity and typicity of their raw material. The company´s mission has always been to preserve the authenticity of its raw materials ever since it was founded. Ribeira Sacra is a place full of mystical histories, and legends, with a breathtaking view. The vineyards are located on steep hills with a view of the Miño River. It is truly a magical place that produces exceptional wines!
