Elaboration

This wine is a remarkable blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot, carefully crafted to perfection. The journey of this wine starts with the grapes being hand-picked, harvested, and meticulously sorted in both the vineyard and the cellar. From September 11th to October 1st, every step is taken to ensure only the finest grapes make it into this exceptional wine.

The magic continues with a controlled fermentation process at 29┬║C, allowing the flavors to intensify and develop over 21 days of maceration. As the wine matures, 40% of it is aged in new oak barrels for an impressive 16 months, while the remainder is nurtured in vats. These careful aging techniques add layers of complexity and richness to the wine, making each sip a delightful experience.

After 21 months of careful crafting, the wine is finally bottled, capturing the essence of its journey from vine to bottle. The result is a wine that truly embodies the artistry and passion of Bordeaux winemaking.

Taster's notes

The Winery

The Boutemy family's passion for vines and wine has been passed down for four generations. Ch├óteau Haut-Lagrange is a family property built in 1989 by Francis Boutemy, in the heart of the Pessac-L├ęognan appellation. His passion for vines and wine was passed on to him by his grandparents, who at the time were the owners of a neighboring classified growth in L├ęognan. Ghislain Boutemy, Francis' son, now manages the vineyard and the vinification. He is surrounded by a permanent team of 3 people who share the same passion for vines and wine.
