Château la Landotte 2017 is the second label of Château Tour Haut Caussan — one of the Médoc's most quietly distinguished family estates, with winemaking roots in Blaignan Médoc stretching back to 1634. Fabien and Véronique Courrian are the proud fourth generation of their family to tend this vineyard, acquired in 1877, and their approach to both viticulture and winemaking is one of principled, traditional conviction. Natural compost made exclusively from grape stalks and cuttings replaces synthetic inputs, giving the vineyard its characteristic vitality. Every grape is hand harvested and the wines are bottled unfiltered, allowing the true character of the grapes to express itself without compromise. This 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot blend is aged 12 months in oak barrels, producing a wine of genuine Médoc character and artisanal integrity.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep ruby red with natural depth and clarity. On the nose, a pleasingly intense and characterful bouquet of black and red fruits with delicate floral notes in the background — a classically elegant 2017 Médoc portrait of genuine freshness and fruit vitality. On the palate, round and well balanced with real structure and a pleasant, harmonious depth that rewards patience as much as immediate enjoyment. A wine that can be opened now with pleasure or cellared for 2 to 3 years for even greater maturity and complexity. Best enjoyed with red meat. Serve between 16°C and 18°C.

About the Winery

Château la Landotte is a 3 hectare estate on the Potensac plateau, cared for since 1987 by the team of Château Tour Haut Caussan with the same quiet conviction that has defined this family's relationship with the Médoc for generations. Fabien and Véronique Courrian are the fourth generation to tend this land — and their philosophy has never wavered. No chemicals. No filtration. No mechanical shortcuts. Only compost made from their own grape stalks and cuttings, hand harvesting when the rest of the Médoc reaches for machines, and a deep belief that great wine begins with a living, healthy vineyard. The result speaks for itself — a vineyard that stands visibly greener and more vibrant than its neighbours, and wines that carry the honest, uncompromised character of people who have always known exactly why they do things this way.
