At the foot of the Pyrenees, in the traditional winemaking region of Somontano, stands one of the most architecturally remarkable wineries in the world — Bodega SOMMOS, whose geometric cubes and interlocking prisms have been recognised by the international press as one of the architectural wonders of the wine world. The ambition expressed in the building is matched by the conviction expressed in the vineyard: grapes harvested by moonlight, when temperatures are low enough to preserve the full aromatic properties of the fruit from vine to cellar without compromise. Glarima de Sommos Chardonnay 2020 is the accessible expression of that philosophy — a blend of Chardonnay and a lighter contribution of Gewürztraminer, each variety aged separately on the lees for three months before blending, producing a white wine of pale yellow colour, exotic fruit aromatics, vibrant fresh acidity and the kind of complexity and roundness that decades of Somontano winemaking expertise make possible at a price that makes every glass feel like a gift.
