Heraclio Alfaro is part of the Terras Gauda Group — one of Spain's leading wine groups, with four wineries across four of the country's most important wine-growing regions, each respected for its individual diversity and idiosyncrasies. In Rioja, the Compañía de Vinos Heraclio Alfaro practices a winemaking culture that the region's most traditional producers have always understood: blending complementary varieties from complementary terroirs to create wines that are richer in nuance, more balanced and more distinctively complete than single-variety or single-site expressions. The Crianza combines Tempranillo and Graciano from the El Estarijo estate in the heart of Rioja del Este — providing the wine's structural core and dark fruit depth — with Tempranillo and Garnacha from vineyards at the foot of the Sierra de Hez, where altitude and late ripening add the fresh fruit notes and natural acidity that keep the wine alive. Twelve months in oak complete the picture.
