Moderato Cuvée Originale Le Rouge begins with a conviction that most alcohol-free producers have been afraid to state publicly: the first step in making a great non-alcoholic wine is making a great wine. Fabien and Sébastien — one a passionate brand builder, one born into a family of winemakers — came together with a simple and radical idea: what if reasonable could be synonymous with good? What if the pleasure, the taste and the character of great Bordeaux could be preserved entirely while removing only the alcohol and its consequences? The answer is Moderato — a range sourced from the best estates in Gascony, vinified at full maturity with careful variety selection and traditional French winemaking know-how, producing wines rich in aromas and naturally balanced before a single drop of alcohol is removed. De-alcoholisation then takes place by low-temperature distillation — a precise and technically demanding process that extracts the ethanol while maintaining the full integrity of the initial wine's aromatic structure, tannin character and varietal expression. The result is a Bordeaux blend of genuine character, noble tannins and a long finish — proof that the revolution Moderato is leading is one worth joining.

Winemaker's Notes

Deep garnet red in the glass — rich, vivid and immediately communicating the Bordeaux character and structural ambition that Moderato has committed to preserving without compromise. On the nose, a peppery essence announces the Cabernet varieties with genuine confidence and aromatic authority, leading to ripe black fruit notes and subtle woody undertones that together build a sophisticated and genuinely complex aromatic portrait of classic Gascon terroir de-alcoholised with complete precision. On the palate, well-rounded and satisfying — ripe black fruit flavours carry through with genuine presence, noble tannins add the structural depth and elegance that separates this wine from the non-alcoholic category norm, and a long finish confirms both the quality of the original wine and the skill of the de-alcoholisation process that preserved it. Serve slightly chilled for optimal experience. Best enjoyed with pan-fried vegetable medley, warm goat's cheese salad or seasoned beef carpaccio.
