Peña Zuela Vendimia Seleccionada Grenache 2019 is crafted from 100% selected Garnacha grown in Campo de Borja, the Aragonese denomination widely regarded as Spain's spiritual home of the Garnacha grape. Situated in the heart of Aragon at the foot of the dramatic Moncayo mountain range, the vineyards here benefit from the altitude, mineral soils and temperature contrasts that define the region's most characterful wines. The "Vendimia Seleccionada" designation reflects a rigorous selection of the finest fruit from the harvest — a commitment to quality that begins in the vineyard before the winemaking process begins. A meticulous production process followed by barrel aging gives the wine its unique and distinctive character, elevating a naturally expressive and fresh Garnacha into something with genuine depth, structure and personality.

Winemaker's Notes

Bright and vivid in the glass — intense cherry red with delicate brick tones that hint at the barrel maturation within. On the nose, generous and layered: ripe black fruit, dried flowers, cocoa, warm spices and toasted wood combine into an aromatic portrait of Campo de Borja Garnacha at its most expressive and inviting. On the palate, intense and well structured through the mid palate with a long, memorable aftertaste where hints of red and black fruit linger beautifully against a warm toasted background. A wine of genuine presence and everyday pleasure in equal measure. Best enjoyed with cheeses and grilled meats. Serve between 14°C and 16°C.

About the Winery

The story of Crianzas y Viñedos Santo Cristo begins in 1945 — a cooperative born in the heart of Aragon at the foot of the Moncayo mountain range, in a place where Garnacha has been grown for generations and where the land makes its intentions very clear. Over nearly eight decades and through several chapters of its history — from Cooperativa Unión Agraria del Campo Santo Cristo to Bodegas Santo Cristo to its current identity — the winery has remained loyal to a single, unshakeable conviction: that Campo de Borja is Garnacha territory par excellence, and that Garnacha grown here, tended with care and vinified with patience, produces wines of exceptional quality and genuine character. Peña Zuela is the expression of that conviction.
