The white wines of Rioja have always lived in the shadow of the reds — and for most producers, that is exactly where they are content to stay. Sierra Cantabria has never been content with that. Since 1870, five generations of the same family have been farming the vineyards of San Vicente de la Sonsierra in Rioja Alta with an environmental philosophy that predates the word organic: no chemical products, only organic fertilisers applied every two years, and an absolute respect for the land that has rewarded them with national and international recognition across every generation. Organza is the expression of that philosophy in its most ambitious white wine form: a classic Riojan coupage of Viura, Malvasía and Garnacha Blanca — each variety contributing its own distinct dimension of acidity, aromatic richness and body — aged for nine months in barrel to achieve the smooth, silky elegance and layered complexity that have made this wine one of the most consistently celebrated barrel-aged whites in the appellation. A 2018 still drinking beautifully in 2026 is the most honest endorsement Sierra Cantabria could ask for.
