Serras del Priorat White 2020 is a white wine. The vineyards are situated on centuries-old terraces that are difficult to reach. The mountainous Priorathas a unique microclimate and the difference between day and night temperatures is huge. The bottom consists of a slate, also known as llicorella, which gives it the typical terroir character in the wine. The production in the area is small-scale and the popularity is still growing. The average age of the sticks is 12 years. This Spanish white wine is found In Priorat.

Taster's Notes

Bright ripe cherry red wine with a purplish rim that still denotes youth. Clean and good tear formation. Very present notes of wild red fruit and fine touches of well-integrated toast and smoke. The entry is fresh, sweet and elegant with a persistent mid-palate. This Spanish white wine pairs perfectly with roast lamb, acorn-fed Iberian ham, red meat with sauce, duck, roasts and beef. Best served at a temperature of 12ºC.

The Winery

Clos Figueras owns an excellent vineyard, with the classic 'llicorella', in the famous Gratallops area of the Priorat appellation. The property was acquired in October 1997 by Charlotte and Christopher Cannan on the recommendation of René Barbier, owner of the famous Clos Mogador estate and founder of the "new wave" Priorat movement during the late 1980s. An initial purchase of approximately 10 hectares of abandoned terraces was followed by a further acquisition in 2000 to complete the 18-hectare estate.
