Chateau Labégorce Margaux

AOC Margaux

France

The Château Labegorce Margaux winery is one of the French wineries in Bordeaux where the vineyards and the chateau together make a unique picture for any wine lover.

Situated along the famous Route des Chateaux this winery, like many of France's famous wineries, has a neoclassical castle in the middle of it. Nearby are the 70 hectares of vineyards where the famous Margaux wines get their essence and flavours.

The first mentions of this cellar date back to 1332 when the lands of the Noble House of La Bégorce were mentioned, dominated by one of the most beautiful and best situated in the commune of Margaux.

Since its acquisition in 1989, the Perrodo family has succeeded in restoring to this property all its architectural brilliance and viticultural dynamism.

The varieties planted today are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc, Petit Verdor. The Labégorce wines are described by critics as charming, with a very beautiful, brilliant structure and great finesse.

In 2006, the Perrodo family also acquired Château Marquis d'Alesme whose vineyards are classified as the third Grand Cru Classé in Margaux, with the aim of elevating this wine to one of the jewels of the appellation.
