Elaboration

This amazing wine comes from the high plateaus and slopes made of clay and limestone, which overlook the beautiful Côtes de Francs area. The Puygueraud vineyard sits on a rocky plateau with stunning views of the Dordogne valley, stretching all the way to Saint-Emilion. It's a special blend made with 63% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Malbec. This outstanding wine has become the pride of the Francs Côtes-de-Bordeaux region and a true treasure of Bordeaux.

Taster's notes

It is a rich wine, endowed with a straight-lined and elegant palate. Ample energy and fruit within structuring tannins that present a lovely nose of fruit and spices. A blend of Merlot in majority with Cabernet Franc and a touch of Malbec. A cru that requires cellar ageing to express the entirety of its qualities. We recommend pairing this wine with roasted lamb, roasted potatoes and onions, pepper beef or with filet mignon. We suggest a serving temperature of between 16ºC and 18ºC

The Winery

The vineyard of Puygueraud is located on a rocky plateau that overlooks the magnificent Dordogne valley, in a continuum until Saint-Emilion. The 42 hectares of black grapes and 5 hectares of white grapes of the property, today sub-divided into 67 parcels, resting on clay and limestone soils and limestone with asterias, marl and clay subsoils. Today 80% of the vineyard is planted in Merlot, 15% in Cabernet Franc and 5% in Malbec, the latter a grape variety dear to the founding father, George Thienpont. The whites are composed of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris.
