Château Dalem
AOC Fronsac
France
Welcome to Château Dalem, nestled in the picturesque Fronsac appellation and overlooking the beautiful Valley of the Island. This winery has a long history - with Michel Rullier having transformed and renovated it for more than 40 years before his daughter Brigitte Rullier-Loussert took over in 2002.
She has continued his efforts with ambitious and talented work, which has contributed to an expansion of the Fronsac appellation that began 15 years ago!
Their soil is optimal, clay-limestone like its neighboring Saint-Émilion; their 18 hectares of Merlot (90%) combined with Cabernet franc vineyard are planted on south-facing limestone-clay slopes at around 5500 to 6600 vines per hectare, cultivated through sustainable methods with a specific approach taken towards each plot according to their oldest vine's average age at 45 years old.
The result? A modern, dense and rich wine bursting with intense notes of cherry, blackberry, plum and licorice aged in barrels with 50% new wood for extra flavour. With its velvety smooth tannins and always elegant and charming fruit, it's no wonder why this stunning location has become famous for its wines!
