Alentejo has been vine country since before Portugal existed as a nation — a vast, sun-drenched region where the cultivation of grapes, the pressing of olive oil and the baking of bread have bound communities together for millennia. Adega de Redondo is rooted in that tradition: a cooperative winery that carries the region's spirit of mutual endeavour in everything it produces. The Colheita Especial is their white blend of three native varieties — the aromatic Fernão Pires, the weight-giving Roupeiro and the saline, textured Verdelho — fermented in stainless steel at 16°C for maximum freshness and then matured on fine lees to build the roundness and persistence that make this wine genuinely more than the sum of its parts. Drink it now, or lay it down for 2 to 3 years and discover what Alentejo's finest native whites become with a little patience.

Winemaker's Notes

Bright yellow in the glass — clean, inviting and immediate. On the nose, an intense and aromatic portrait: white pulp fruit and orange blossom with the gentle floral complexity that Fernão Pires delivers when fermentation preserves every dimension of its aromatic potential. On the palate, fresh and young with balance and elegance — the three varieties working in harmony to give the wine both weight and lift, both fruit and length. Best enjoyed with blue fish, grilled seafood and light Portuguese-style dishes. Serve between 8 and 10°C.
