Château Haut Lagrange
Four generations of the Boutemy family have passed on their passion for the vine and wine to create Château Haut-Lagrange in 1989. Francis Boutemy was inspired by his grandparents who cultivated a nearby classified growth in Léognan.
His son, Ghislain, now manages the vineyard with a team of three others who share the same enthusiasm for vines and wine.
Château Haut-Lagrange is situated in Graves Pessac-Léognan appellation and its production was cited as one of the most remarkable of the region since it was first planted during the 18th century.
To make full use of this gravelly terroir, Francis Boutemy used typical grape varieties such as Sauvignon and Semillon for whites; Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for reds.
This unique property is a testament to four generations' dedication to viniculture - steeped in history yet proudly preserving knowledge so that future generations may continue this noble tradition.
At Haut-Lagrange, passion and know-how are combined to create remarkable new methods of winemaking and tools. The Bout'Mobile, an innovative hand harvesting machine created by Francis Boutemy, is a standout example - garnering attention during harvest season for its ability to produce quality grapes and keep operators safe.
The entire team at Haut-Lagrange works tirelessly with the help of Terra Vitis specifications to ensure the highest quality wines possible. This dedication and focus on excellence has earned them both Terra Vitis and HVE 3 certifications - proofs of their eco-responsible approach.
And as if this weren't enough, they also take care of the environment surrounding their vineyards, promoting biodiversity and providing their labour force with good working and living conditions.
Enjoyment doesn't cease here though: At Haut-Lagrange, you can savour the fruits of their labour in white or red wines that have achieved perfect balance between quality and sustainability.
